What if I have been ticketed with other people?

If you have been ticketed with other people, you all may apply for a public defender to represent you.  If all of you qualify for the public defender the public defender will make a decision as to the person they will represent.  The public defender cannot represent all of the people ticketed together as that would create a conflict of interest.  If you qualified for a public defender, and the public defender declares there is a conflict, then the court will appoint counsel from the Office of Alternate Defense Counsel to represent you.  Alternate defense counsels are lawyers appointed by the court in cases where the public defender has a conflict of interest.
