Kyle Hughes has worked for the Colorado Office of the State Public Defender for the past seven years and served as Chief Information Officer the entire time. He oversees all of the information technology and telecommunications needs for the agency to ensure all staff members have the equipment, systems and access they need to serve our clients.

Throughout his career, Kyle has worked for various agencies whose purpose is to provide support and services for people in need. Some of these agencies have focused on mental health support, while others focused on daily living services. Providing criminal defense support for individuals in need was a logical extension of his career path, and Kyle is honored to be able to support our staff in his role as Chief Information Officer. Our team is dedicated to standing by our clients in such a critical time of need and helping them through a situation that can heavily influence their future – to be able to support these efforts makes the job truly rewarding for Kyle.

Education and Credentials

Mr. Hughes received a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. He then earned an MBA from the University of Denver.

Family and Personal Interests

When he’s not at work, Kyle spends most of his time with his wife and children, with an occasional break for video games and watching sports. Prior to having a family, he spent a great deal of his free time snowboarding, golfing, boating and fishing.
