Paralegals


General Duties

The OSPD typically hires entry-level Paralegals who work under direct supervision while developing fundamental skills in performing legal support duties and basic paralegal functions. Paralegals may be assigned to regional offices, which are located in judicial districts throughout the state. Positions provide litigation support on a wide range of appellate, juvenile and adult cases including homicides and complex crimes, Grand Jury indictments and juvenile transfer and reverse transfer cases.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants require strong interpersonal skills in order to successfully work with colleagues, clients and court staff; strong attention to detail; strong proficiency in spoken and written English; and, strong organizational skills to manage a high volume of work. Applicants must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and preferably will be proficient in Adobe Acrobat.
